If a client reports getting a headache or stomach pain from taking CanXida, the first thing I recommend is to reduce the dose.

If you’ve been taking one or two per day, you can drop it down to ½ tablet or one tablet.

If the side effects are extreme, stop the supplements for three to four days and then resume at half the dose.

You also need to take a careful look at any diet changes you made at the same time as taking CanXida. Making a lot of diet changes at the same time as taking a new supplement can create big problems for your body.

My recommendation is to make diet changes very slowly. Make small, incremental changes in your diet. Don’t dramatically increase or decrease portion sizes. Don’t all of a sudden eliminate a certain food or add a new food.

Do things very slowly and carefully. That means you’re going to minimize the amount of stomach pain and headache.

Also, look at how much sleep you’re getting and what kind of stressors you’ve got in your life.

It’s not a good idea to start supplementation and diet change, with Thanksgiving, or when the family comes over or when you’re going on a holiday.

Things You Need To Know About Breastfeeding And The Candida Diet?

It’s not uncommon for women to have a yeast problem when they’re breastfeeding.

Baby can get the problem in the mouth. You might see some white spots there on the inside or the tongue. It’s actually not uncommon at all.

There could be some nipple thrush. I’ve seen that quite regularly in patients as well.

The key thing with nursing is to get an excellent immune response. A good immune system helps protect against Candida.

By sleeping more, getting support, by getting help from friends and family, and by eating a healthy diet, a mom can support her immune system.

The key foods to eat are foods that are not going to be high in sugar.

I don’t recommend lots of caffeinated drinks, lots of chocolate, lots of candy, or lots of ice cream.

Make sure that you’re eating good food and good quality protein foods, in particular. If you’re not vegan or vegetarian, I recommend having some kind of meat in the diet when breastfeeding. I don’t recommend peanut butter because it can be quite allergenic.

Eating healthy fats is also essential when you are breastfeeding.

Avocado is quite a good fat. Fish like salmon or oily fish is going to be quite a good fat to have when you’re breastfeeding. Coconut fat and good quality fats like organic sunflower oil, a good quality sesame oil, olive oil, or omega-3 fish oil supplements are all a good idea.

Be careful particularly with fruit when you are breastfeeding. I suggest having low sugar fruits such as green apples or old-fashioned sour apples. Pomegranate, avocado, and berries are other good fruit choices.

If your child has an oral thrush issue, be very careful with the type of fruits you eat. Drink plain water.

I don’t believe chocolate is a good food to eat when you’re breastfeeding.

Raw cacao may be a better snack food if you want to go that way.

I’m a big fan of vegetables during breastfeeding. Spinach has folic acid, and seaweed provides some iodine, both of which are important nutrients.

Anti-Candida foods that I consider to be safe during breastfeeding include garlic and ginger. I’m not a big fan of anti-fungal supplements, although some doctors do prescribe nystatin. For some women with a serious case of yeast infection, it may be necessary to take nystatin.

Stress is one of the biggest issues that many women face when they’re nursing.

Remember, folks; stress can wreck your immune system. It can cause a lot of problems that can facilitate Candida.

If the baby’s got oral thrush, consider this homeopathic remedy for the baby called borax. Borax is often available from homeopathic pharmacies. Some women I know put a little bit of coconut oil on their finger and run that around the baby’s mouth.

Sometimes a little bit of coconut on the nipple area can help with nipple thrush. .

Some people use probiotics during breastfeeding. Probiotics work for some women, but some women get side effects. Bifidobacterium is particularly good for the baby.

“Can an intrauterine contraceptive device be the cause of Candida?”

After looking at quite a lot of research on this over the years and, more importantly, experiencing this with many patients in the clinic, I can certainly say, yes, there is absolutely a link between an IUD and the incidence of vaginal Candida.

One study, in particular, was fascinating. The report was from the late 1980s and was published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

What they did is they got two groups of women. They had 117 women with an IUD fitted, and they had 100 women that had no IUD fitted.

The researchers did cultures before the IUD fitting procedure. They did swabs and checked the vaginal yeast cultures out of these women before the IUD was inserted. They did the same culture after the IUD was inserted and for the control groups.

The study found a significantly higher incidence of vaginal Candida in the IUD group. Up to 20 percent-plus of the 117 women in the IUD group had vaginal Candida compared to 6 percent or less in the control group. They also found many different strains.

I’ve always noticed that women with these devices tend to have more irritation and more issues with vaginal yeast infections.

If you’ve got an IUD in place and you’re concerned, get it taken out. Talk to your doctor about other kinds of birth control methods because there is undoubtedly a link between these IUDs and increased incidents of Candida.

Treating Candida Naturopathically: Don’t Make These Mistakes

Today we’re going to talk about five classic mistakes that many naturopaths make when treating a person with a Candida problem.

There’s plenty of scientific literature validating the work I’ve been doing now for a long, long.

Mistake #1 is not testing and making assumptions instead.

Never make assumptions. If you’ve been sick for a long time, I highly recommend comprehensive digestive stool analysis either through a Genova Diagnostics Lab or Doctor’s Data Lab in Chicago, Illinois.

Making assumptions is a bad idea. I can say with 100 percent certainty that over half the people I see who swear they’ve got Candida have no Candida at all.

They may have a complete lack of beneficial bacteria that couldn’t even be cultured in the stool test. They may have one or more parasites. They may have multiple kinds of dysbiotic flora, like Citrobacter freundii or pseudomonas.

The second common mistake is focusing too much on diet and not enough on overall wellness. Too many naturopaths talk about diet, diet, and diet.

When you’ve seen the number of patients I have over the years and completed 4,000 or more stool tests, you start to understand a lot of patterns with people. You begin to realize that it’s a lot more than just a diet that people need to get better.

You may be eating the best food under the sun, and you’re still not getting better. What are you going to do? Eat better food? Change the kind of food you’re eating? Do you think that’s going to make any difference? You’re missing the point. Something else needs changing.

The third common mistake I see when naturopaths treat Candida is practitioners that are one-trick ponies. Number three. By that, I mean, your practitioner may just say, “I’m a Candida expert.” But every time a person comes to that practitioner, everything will be assumed to be Candida without even testing.

“What? You’ve got an itchy scalp? Must be a yeast infection. “If everything is a nail to them with Candida, then the only solution is going to be the hammer for that nail.

You may need to go to someone with a lot more clinical experience who doesn’t just see everything as a Candida problem.

The fourth common mistake I see is a poor choice of supplementation. Many people take the wrong kind of supplements. They either take too many supplements, or they take supplements that aren’t well matched to their needs.
