Hi Dr.Eric, I suffered candida 5yrs ago and got oral thrush but it keeps recurring, even when I had my 1st child, she had the sores on her tongue for like a year disappeared after treatment up to now they haven’t appeared again but mine is still there weekly. Yes, I love sugary foods think will work on that first. I’m Ugandan, so some of recommended toothpastes or mouthwash aren’t common. Do you know of any alternatives? Thanx

Hi Shakie, You CAN beat this thing! It’s those sugary foods that need to GO. Have a look at my Candida Crusher dietary recommendations on this website. Try Tea Tree oil, a few drops in water, rinse your mouth well and spit it out. Do this twice daily. You could try clove tea, make a tea with cloves, rinse your mouth and spit it out. Have this twice daily.

    Hi Dr. Eric,

I have been avoiding sugar completely , I am not eating any processed foods and I am not taking any sweet fruits or juices. Eating more veggies , coconut , garlic and fish.
I have been doing this for 2 weeks now. I have few questions

    1) Can I eat white rice or brown rice ? Or I am suppose to completely avoid rice ?

    2) I understand that I cannot have beers or wines. Some people say it’s ok to drink highly filtered vodka. Can I have vodka ? Or I have to completely avoid alcohol?

    Thanks

Greetings. In the initial stages you should avoid all rice if you can, especially if your symptoms are quite bad. DON’T believe so called “experts” who say you must avoid ALL grains if you want to cure candida, it’s nonsense, I’ve seen many people recover fully who do eat grains, some can een eat all fruits. Don’t ask me why, it’s just clinical experience and most of the so called “expert opinions” you read online from people who say they know everything about candida acutally never see any patients. Brown rice is OK after a month or two in most cases.

Alcohol? Are you crazy? You can’t even consider it until you are really well. You need to avoid it completely.
