Candida And BCP: What’s The Connection?

Estrogen is definitely linked with Candida.

I’ve seen this many, many times with women, particularly estrogen dominant women. A lot of women are estrogen dominant from their mid-to-late 30s up until their mid-to-late 50s.

Estrogen dominance depends on the health of your liver. By drinking alcohol regularly, eating chocolate, and other sweets, you can make it harder for your liver to detoxify estrogen. Estrogen can then build up and cause all sorts of problems. Weight loss and liver cleansing are important ways of reducing estrogen dominance.

Also, estrogen is everywhere today, even in plastics. Certain plastics can mimic estrogens. They are called xenoestrogens. There are various chemicals that we have today that can mimic estrogen.

For that reason, I recommend that people stay away from plastic, styrofoam, styrene, and BPA plastics. All of these chemicals are a source of xenoestrogens. You don’t want to load the body up with excess estrogen.

Estrogen increases several days before menses. Then it slowly decreases as progesterone goes up.

Many women tell me that they get vaginal irritation or itching or discharge.

Anywhere from two to four or five days before their period. This is very common as estrogen starts to kick in. It starts to prepare the lining inside the womb and the uterus for possible implantation.

Estrogen makes that area nice and plump and soft, and it also allows the cells to stimulate glycogen, which is a kind of sugar that Candida loves.

Candida Albicans is the common one found probably in about 65/70 percent of the vaginal cultures, but other types of Candida are associated as well.

If you are on a pill and you get problems, my suggestion is to talk to the doctor and get off the combination pill and look at a progesterone-only pill. Usually, you will have a lesser chance of this kind of vaginal irritation if you go progesterone only.

Be careful about intrauterine devices, IUDs, because they’ve got up to four to five times greater risk of Candida compared to no IUD.

You may want to give yourself a break from the pill for three or six months or more, do a proper Candida diet approach, and a proper vaginal cleanout with boric acid.

Using The Candida Diet For The Whole Family

“Should my family go on a Candida diet if I’m on the diet?”

Let’s just say that your wife or your partner, your husband or a boyfriend or your girlfriend or a something kind of friend and you’re in a relationship, or you’ve got family, and you’ve discovered that you got problems with Candida.

Is it appropriate for a family to go on that kind of approach?

Well, I think in many cases, it is.

It also depends on who’s the primary cook or who’s taking care of the food.

If you’re in a house, I hope that you guys work as a team, too, because it tends to be easy that way.

If you have got health issues, I always encourage you to make positive changes in what you’re Don’t make them very rapidly with yourself, particularly with the family, is you need to make change very slowly and surely.

Make changes slowly. Let’s just say, for example, that you’ve felt that you’re carrying a bit of weight, and you want to make some positive changes for other people that maybe are unwell or have gut issues or weight issues. One good thing you can do, for example, would be to cut down the amount of bread the family’s eating.

Slowly introduce, for example, some lentils or some beans in with some salads and very slowly, gradually make these changes.

Slowly move away from takeaway food, for example, if you’re eating takeaway once a week, kick it to once every fortnight.

Remember, when you control the knife and the kitchen sink and the stove, you can ultimately control the family’s destiny in terms of health.

Make the right choices with vegetables and lean meats, and eating proper meals at regular times of the day.

It’s not hard for the whole family to go on an anti-Candida diet approach.

It’s very simple. It’s simpler if you eat well from the start.

But if you don’t eat well, make slow positive changes over say a three to six-month period and eventually, you’re eating very, very well.

It also depends on the age of the children and the family at home. If you’ve got younger children, it’s easy to make change quickly. If you’ve got teenagers and they’ve been eating pizzas three times a week, it’s a lot harder to make changes.

I think the whole family can go on the anti-Candida diet. You can cut out a lot of the sweet fruits, especially if you’re buying all these fruit and vegetables and groceries.

Make the right choices with beverages. Don’t buy soda drinks.

Just get maybe pure water and dilute fruit juices in there or slices of lemon, herbal teas, green teas.

Don’t buy alcohol or minimal alcohol, and the family won’t be drinking lots of alcohol. It’s a lot easier to do that than when they get a bit older.

Natural Sugars And The Candida Diet

What natural sugars do I recommend for people on the Candida diet?

To be honest, I don’t recommend any sugars at all.

In my diet, I include honeycomb or honey. But, remember, I don’t have Candida. Manuka honey is my favorite. It has proven anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

I write about xylitol and stevia at quite some length in my book, Candida Crusher. These are the two sugars I recommend if you have Candida.

If you’re going to use a sweetener, I particularly like xylitol. Xylitol is extremely It’s sweet, and it’s found in many different types of berries, fruits, vegetables and even bark from birch trees.

Xylitol is a natural sugar, but unlike cane sugar, it doesn’t shoot your blood sugar way up, leading to an insulin surge and then a blood sugar crash.

Related articles:

Xylitol inhbits streptococcus mutants, which is an oral bacteria involved in plaque. Just be careful that you don’t buy xylitol that has multi-dextrins or other crappy sugars mixed in with it.

The other thing I like about xylitol is it inhibits acetaldehyde, a toxin produced by Candida. The World Health Organization classifies acetaldehyde as a carcinogen.

Stevia rebaudiana is a small plant that grows in Paraguay and various countries in South America. You can grow the plant in your garden. You can add stevia to salads and drinks. I think that eating the plant is the best way to get the sugar because you get fiber with it.

Stevia is many times sweeter than can sugar. Stevia does have some impact on blood sugar, but it is minuscule. Still, I think xylitol is better for people with diabetes.

Still, remember that the best sugar is no sugar. If you want something sweet, eat berries or bell peppers instead.

If you get bloating and gas when you have stevia or xylitol, stop it at once and you

may need to do some breath testing for small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).

If you have a terrible reaction to xylitol or stevia, consider getting a comprehensive stool analysis. Check to see if you have a lack of beneficial bacteria or lots of harmful bacteria lurking in your digestive system.

Your Weight And The Candida Diet

What should you do if you’re already low weight and now are losing even more weight on the Candida diet?

A big part of my clinic is to try to get people’s metabolic rates working optimally. The metabolic rate is what your body is going to do with the food you eat. It’s either going to keep you in a normal state like it is with me. It’s either going to make you too big or your metabolism will make you too skinny.

Metabolic rate is governed by a whole bunch of different factors.

Genetics, personality, diet, environment, stress levels, all sorts of things will make up how quickly you gain weight, and how quickly you lose weight.

How do you gain weight when you’re skinny? The first things I probably ask of you if you’re a very thin person, are you a relaxed

person? Do you have the ability to be able to sit down and relax and move more slowly and speak more slowly and take your time doing things and not be in a hurry?

If you get irritated by other people, if you bump into people all the time or run up and downstairs, if you move quickly, if you drive your car very fast, if you get very impatient with people, if you’ve got lists of jobs to do and then lists of lists of lists of jobs to do, maybe you suffer a little bit from anxiety.

Maybe you need to slow that anxiety down a little bit by doing some nice relaxed, controlled breathing. These are the unseen things that help you to gain weight.

I get at least one patient per day like this. He’s very underweight.

Related articles:

He’s got high anxiety. Tends to be a little bit on the hypothyroid or hyper adrenal side. She or he may well have a high cortisol rate, and frequently they’ve got many different issues with their health as well.

Many will have fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, digestive issues.

How the heck do you gain weight if you’re skinny, if you can’t relax?

It’s not easy. But I certainly encourage you to have larger portion sizes or meals more regularly, particularly to sit down and slow down and relax a lot more.

Let’s just say that you are skinny but also very relaxed and easy-going.

In those situations, I like to do a thyroid function test, a salivary cortisol test to look at their stress hormones, and see if a hormonal issue is present.

Usually, people that can’t gain weight despite eating a good amount of high-calorie food need to slow down.

What are some high-calorie foods? Fatty foods. Coconut fat.

Meat with a little bit more fat on it. Eggs. Nuts.

Skinny people will often benefit from chewing very well and slowly and eating more things.

Try to find the kind of carbohydrates that sit well you and your personality. It could be potatoes for some people. It could be sourdough bread for other people. Try to find a type of grain. It could be quinoa.

Eat more fat, relax more, and exercise less. All of those things can help you prevent weight loss while on the Candida diet.

Canxida Rebuild: A Good Source Of B Vitamins

I once had a client ask me why their urine turned bright yellow after taking a CanXida Rebuild?

To answer that question, we’re going to talk about B vitamins.

There are many different types of B vitamins. B1 is thiamine.

B2 is riboflavin. Riboflavin or B2 is essential because it has many effects on neurological function. It helps to mature red blood cells, and it also helps to heal the lining of the digestive system.

B3 is niacin. B5 is pantothenic acid. B6 is pyridoxine or pyridoxal thiophosphate. Vitamin B7 is biotin. We got B9, which is folic acid. And we’ve got B12, which is cobalamin or methylcobalamin or hydroxocobalamin.

All the B vitamins are critical for your health. The levels of vitamin B drop when you drink alcohol. If you drink coffee, tea, alcohol, you’re also going to reduce the B vitamins in your body.

This is why people often get tired and edgy because the Bs are responsible for converting food into energy.

The Bs are responsible for many detoxification pathways.

Each particular B vitamin has a specific effect on the body.

Good quality vegetables, nuts and seeds, and some grains are all excellent sources of B vitamins.

Urine can turn bright yellow because of the riboflavin component of multivitamins. Flavin means “yellow” or “gold” in Latin.

In other words, there is no reason to worry if your urine is fluorescent yellow after you start taking CanXida Rebuild. Your body can only really absorb about 12 or 15 milligrams of B2 at once. The rest gets passed out through the urine.
