If you are planning to do a detoxification diet, it’s very important not to plunge yourself into a cleanse. If you jump right into aggressive detoxification, there’s a big chance that you’ll end up feeling terrible.
There are several reasons why detoxification done too quickly can leave you feeling horrible. One possible explanation is that you had so many toxic compounds in your body that your liver and kidneys became overwhelmed.
The lesson to learn from this is to go more slowly in the future, to take your time, and particularly if you haven’t done a detox in a long, long time.
It’s the same as if you haven’t exercised in a long time; you don’t suddenly go full-on into a fitness program. You need to take your time and gradually build up your level of physical activity.
And it’s the same with the cleanse. Once you’ve completed a few milder cleansers, you can move on and go and do some more intermediate
Cleansing. From there, you can undertake a more aggressive cleanse which can involve colonic irrigation, enemas, detoxification herbs, and bitter juices, which can stimulate the release of toxic bile.
You need to take your time and undertake detoxification intelligently and logically.
But what are you going to do now that you’re already feeling horrible while doing a cleanse? How can you turn the boat around?
There are several steps you can take. You could switch to a nice, light diet for seven to ten days. During that time, don’t eat a lot of fatty or fried foods. Instead, eat things like fish, chicken broth, and bone broth. Sip hot water
with a little bit of honey and lemon juice. Eat things like salad, brown rice, and vegetables.
Try to keep active, even if you’re not feeling your best. Go for a walk, even if it’s only a five-minute walk. You’ll find that walking aids in both physical and mental recovery.
Exercise allows the liver and gut to work more effectively and release a lot of toxins into the digestive system.
Next, drink more water. Give up alcohol for at least a month if you’re feeling poorly.
By being an active person, especially exercising regularly and then undergoing cleanse, you’re not going to suffer from these kinds of problems usually.
I will be backing off most dietary supplements for a while if you’re feeling very poorly. And, don’t necessarily jump back into a whole raft of nutritional supplements.
The bottom line is that I recommend taking a nice and easy approach to detoxification. Following a system that has been put together by a knowledgeable practitioner is the way to go.
Now, you can probably understand why I created the Candida Crusher program. It is a program that helps people avoid plunging head-on into detoxification and suffering as a result.
You’ve got a huge, tremendous amount of bacteria and activity in the gut, and you can’t do an incredible turnaround on a dime when it comes to the gut.
You need to take your time, and by understanding that process, you’re going to avoid nasty side effects.
Do you crave and enjoy sugar, soda drinks, candy, chocolate, ice cream?
Sugar’s very addictive for so many people. It’s like a drug because it profoundly affects the brain.
A long time ago, around 1900, sugar was extremely expensive, so only the elite people could afford refined sugar. Most people just ate small amounts of honey.
Now people eat up to twice their body weight per year in sugar because it’s so cheap. We’ve also seen an explosion in obesity as a result.
I started to notice issues with sugar with people a long, long time ago, when I first started to practice. I came to understand why so many people crave sweets.
Often sugar cravings stem from problems in diet and lifestyle. Thankfully, those problems can be easily corrected.
Once you’ve been eating sweet foods for some time, your blood sugar is impacted. Your blood sugar goes up, and then the pancreas produces a hormone called insulin to bring it down. Often, it’ll bring it down too fast. The plummet in blood sugar triggers sugar cravings.
It’s a vicious cycle that leaves you on a blood sugar and craving rollercoaster.
What ends up happening is that people with blood sugar issues only feel good when they have a cookie or a chocolate bar in their mouths.
Once you get the hit, you want to go back for the hit, and back for the hit.
As a result, it will end up destroying the blood sugar regulatory mechanism.
You’ll plunge yourself into diabetes, heart disease, and all of the problems that having such a low pH brings to the body; yeast infections and eventually cancer.
Artificial sugars have been shown to actually stimulate sugar addiction further, so don’t touch artificial sweeteners.
The other factor that can contribute to sugar cravings is the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol liberates stored sugar and pushes it into the bloodstream. Once again, insulin is released, blood sugar can plummet, and the cycle of blood sugar dysregulation is in full force. That cycle helps explain why people under stress often crave sugar.
High blood sugar can then trigger inflammation, which contributes to diseases like heart problems, depression, and cancer.
What should you do if you have sugar cravings?
Firstly, fix up the things in your life that cause stress.
Next, spend time planning your meals. Make sure you shop for healthy, whole foods, so you don’t reach for junk when you’re hungry.
A substantial, high-protein breakfast is one of the key ways to prevent sugar cravings. You don’t’ have to eat first thing in the morning. It’s okay to wait until 9 or 10 a.m. if you’re not hungry earlier than that.
Make sure you snack on something that creates satiety, not a temporary blood sugar peak.
Having enough water is very important to help stop sugar cravings.
Having enough water allows fiber to work properly. If you’re eating sufficient vegetable and fruit fiber, water will help slow down the passage of food through your digestive system and downplay sweet cravings.
Now, when it comes to sweets, I prefer honey. When I have my rolled oats in the morning, I put some berries and a little bit of honey on top.
Honey does contain sugar, but it’s a different kind of sugar than you’re going to get out of a sugar bowl, but be careful, because honey can also be highly addictive.
The last tip is to add bitter, salty, and sour foods to your diet. These types of food help reduce sugar cravings.
Bitter foods also improve digestion, discourage Candida and SIBO, and prevent gallbladder, pancreatic, and stomach dysfunction.
Bitter foods are your friend. Sugary foods are your enemy.
So, anyway, let’s get into it. First video I’m going to make… I’m going to make this video because I’ve had so many people commenting on our YouTube channel regarding the CanXida supplements and saying, “Why should I buy your stuff? It’s too expensive. I bought a supplement for $9.99 and it’s going to do a really good job.” Other people say, “Whoa, whoa, you’re charging too much for your products. You need to charge a lot less in these difficult and uncertain times for people.” And other people say, “Look, I’ve had way better results with a $2.99 product I bought on Amazon. I don’t need to get your stuff.”
And look, that’s all fine. It doesn’t concern me what dietary supplements you buy, what products. And, in fact, I’m quite happy for you to try other people’s supplements. In fact, I love you to try other people’s supplements, from any brand XYZ you want, particularly regarding candida control, bacterial overgrowth in the gut, parasite. You try it. You just go and buy the supplements, try them all out, and then send me some comments back on this video, on the different products you’ve tried.
So I’m going to give you a couple of reasons why CanXida is certainly worth thinking about. Maybe you don’t want to buy it yet. Maybe you can’t afford to buy CanXida at this point in time or you’re going to try other products? I’m totally fine by that, okay. You should know me by now in this channel. I’m not a person who drives… A sales-driven kind of a guy. It’s not really my mantra. It never has been. I don’t really care. It doesn’t concern me. I love creating videos and content for people. If you buy my products, that’s great because you helped to support the channel. But if you don’t buy my products, that’s fine too, okay. So don’t get your knickers in a knot.
Or do they say that in the US? I think they say that in England. Well, they also say, “Keep your hair on.” All these weird expressions. Don’t get annoyed. So I’ve got a couple of reasons I’ve written down here. I’d just like to explain a bit about why I think CanXida works quite well for a lot of people in spite of the price tag.
Okay, the first one is, it’s an original formula. The CanXida products are original formulations. They haven’t been copied from somebody else. Now this is a very important point. I designed products in New Zealand many years ago, several products. Now, they’ve just been widely copied by other people. Many people are out there just copying whatever they can to make a buck, but they don’t have any original thought. They’ve got no clinical skills. They’ve got no formulation skills. They haven’t really got the insight of a clinician who spent 30-plus years in a clinic, thinking about patients, thinking about diseases, thinking about products.
So the original formula, particularly CanXida Remove, but also CanXida Restore, those formulas, in particular, are very, very original. All of my formulas are original formulas. I don’t copy other people. How I design a product, it’s quite simple. I create a massive Excel spreadsheet and I look at every single competitive product on the market that’s worth looking at. Well, it shaves it right down only actually to probably about 10 or 15 in the genre or the category I’m looking at because most products that fall out that side are crap. There’s so much crap out there. You’ve got no idea.
Let’s take a comparative example of cost versus value. A long, long time ago, when I was 18 years old, I bought a power tool and it cost me a lot of money. It was a Bosch power tool, B-O-S-C-H. A, made in West Germany, drill, when I was 18. I’ve still got that drill today and it works. 42-year-old drill still works. All right.
Now, my father-in-law keeps buying these $10 drills from these Red Sheds or these $2 shops and those sort of places. And he’s always moaning that the drill blows up or burns out. It’ll work, sure. It’ll do one or two jobs, even three jobs, even four jobs, but then eventually bang. It’s bit the dust. It’s gone. It goes in the trash can. Then he buys another tool. Now the point I’m making here is, my father-in-law would have bought dozens and dozens of power tools. Meanwhile, I’ve still got the Bosch drill that’s working. Cost versus value. Something may appear a lot at first, but the value of it is tremendous when you draw it through longitudinally. The quality, all right. The quality’s there.
CanXida products are quality products. They weren’t copied. They were not put together with really el cheapo ingredients. A lot of thought went into the design. And yeah, but let’s keep going. So it’s an original formula. It’s not a copied formula. Many people have tried to copy CanXida, but they fail because they don’t really understand the proprietary method on how this product was put together either.
Point number two, the CanXida products were clinically trialed for a long time. Now, again, other people won’t do that. They will just design a product. They’ll quickly just look, they’ll do a paint-by-numbers system. They’ll throw ingredients together. They’ll bang it out in a capsule or tablet and sell it. They weren’t really tried on people before they actually really start to market the product. CanXida Remove was trialed for a long time in the clinic before we released it. We used it on many, many clients and the formula get tweaked and changed until the formula got to a point where it’s an outstanding formula or I knew it was going to work really well. And then it finally got released.
Well, the results have certainly been there. We get fantastic feedback from CanXida Remove. So I just hope other companies get the same kind of feedback from their formulations that we get here.
So the third point is… Excuse me, chest. The third point is the CanXida supplements were designed by a naturopath, yours truly, with a very interest, a strong focus on gut health, particularly yeast infections, particularly small intestinal bowel overgrowth, which we didn’t know way back when I was in my 20s, we called it other stuff.
So I’ve been using supplements from all the major providers for 20-plus years before I even thought about designing CanXida products. So, many of these products, Thorne Research, for example, Metagenics products, Allergy Research products, all the top-tier professional products. I don’t tend to use anything but top tier. So I used those products for a long time. I started to realize some products worked well. Some didn’t work well at all. And some I had no joy with. And some, occasionally, were pretty good, but the consistency wasn’t there all the time from patient to patient. So that’s when these products were put on a spreadsheet, pulled apart, the ingredients looked at carefully, the ingredients further studied, their proportion studied on how they fit together. And then the product was designed. And then the product was trialed before it was used. Now that’s a long process and it costs me a lot of money, cost me thousands and thousands of dollars to do all that. Huge amount of money. Incredible.
So the next point, it’s false economy to use a $10 product. What I need to do one day is show you guys more photos of some of the patients that actually sat in this room over the years and brought all their products with them. Many people who’ve done that… In fact, I’ve encouraged patients to bring exactly what they take. So some people, literally, bought boxes and boxes and boxes of supplements. And it’s not unusual for someone with a serious health issue, especially like candida or a SIBO issue to be taking up to 10 or 15 dietary supplements.
Now, they may pay 10 bucks for one over here on Amazon. They may pay $4 for it on iHerb, but they’ll be getting supplements from all over the place. They’ll be getting supplements from different naturopaths, medical doctors, iHerb, Amazon, everywhere. Next thing they’ve got a whole table full of stuff and they don’t know what to do, how to take it. And it ended up costing them a ton of money, a ton.
So, coming back to the power tool, quality is important. Construction of the product and quality is important because it’s going to last. But in this case, it’s going to be effective. All right. Very important. Too many products, cheaper ones especially, you’ll be using lots and lots of to try and get some type of result. So you’ll get sick of taking all these products. You’ll be spending way too much money. So, think about that carefully. And the quality’s not there.
So, when you think about the pricing of CanXida products, they’re not really that expensive. Now, for many people, they will be, of course, especially people on minimum wage. I was on minimum wage for many years. I drove trucks, remember? I drove garbage trucks for six years. My wife and I scraped by. We had nothing at all, literally. It was really, really tough. So I’ve been there. I know what it’s like.
But when you practice naturopathy for 25, 30 years, you don’t have to, usually, go to the $2 shop anymore. You can go to the $5 shop, if you get my drift. I still save money. If we still get a small loaf of bread, for example, I won’t throw the crusts out. They’ll get put into breadcrumbs or things. It must be the Jew in me. I don’t know what it is, but I still like economizing and saving money.
So there you have it. Quality counts. Minimum and high quality. Not maximum and cheap quality. Look for products designed by experienced person with a high skillset in a niche, and generally you’re going to get a better outcome. That’s all I wanted to say. And the rest is up to you. And I’ll end like I began. It’s totally up to you what you buy and decide. If you want to be a subscriber and buy $5 products, I don’t care. If you get great information out of this channel and it helps you on your quest to getting good health, that’s what I care about. I’m 60 years old. I don’t care anymore. Money’s not the big thing that drives me. It really isn’t. Now you may think that’s a stupid thing to say, but it’s not. The older you get, the more you realize the important things aren’t just about dollars. They’re also about helping people. Think about it. Thanks for tuning in.
Many years ago, when I had a company in New Zealand, which I sold out to a partner, I spent a long time studying Omega-3 lipids, looking at the different fats. And I formed a professional relationship with a lady down in the South Island who is a PhD in molecular… I think it’s molecular biochemistry, and with a particular interest in lipids in fats. Now this woman, man she was weird to talk to you. She was almost like a robot, talk about Asperger’s syndrome. As you may have worked out, I’ve got a bit Asperger’sy myself, but this woman was on a whole new level. Like quite a hot looking lady, pulling out spreadsheets with terms I’d never heard or before and words that I didn’t even know existed. Really over the top.
She had a real fascination for fish oils and she knew her stuff. And basically what I gleaned from my many conversations with her, that the shitty oils that they’re not good ones to have are really the sardine oils and the fishes that live in the highest in the top strata. They’re easy to scoop out the water, easier to harvest and easier to process. But as she always said to me, traditionally, fish oils always were cod or fish in that deep strata. That live 400 meters plus down 800 meters, even a kilometer, which is almost a mile down under the water.
And she said, if you think about Eric, it makes sense. These fishes live in the coldest, darkest most incredible environments. So their bodies have to be made to have an ability to protect them. Particularly with those crushing pressures and intense stresses that they face. So she said, they produce a fat unlike anchovies or sardines, that’s so protective of them. So Cod liver oil is the one that you want. Now, Cod liver oil also has an incredibly complex molecular chemistry. If we can pull Cod liver oil out on a spreadsheet, we’re looking at hundreds and hundreds of types of lipids in an oil.
Now you may have heard of the terms DHA and EPA. These are the two common fractions. But it goes far further than that. It goes way further than that. If we look at shark liver oil for example, and shark liver and Mako shark has anticancer properties about it. Now that may seem like some dumb statement I’m making here, but studies from South Korea and Japan have shown that certain components in shark oil, but also in Cod oil have got the ability to seriously reduce inflammation and also to help to stop cancer from forming in the body.
So should you take shark oil every day? I think Cod liver oil is the one to take. The jury’s still out on the shark oil, but the Cod liver oil has got a nice anti-inflammatory component about it. Studies I’ve looked at show the EPA component of Cod oil works almost as good, if not better than ibuprofen, than pharmaceutical medications. So people who regularly take fish oil, quality fish oil, will definitely notice an anti inflammatory effect. There’s no doubt about it.
Now, anyone who comes back and argues with me that fish oil is junk, like they used to 20 years ago now needs to go to a psychiatrist. The Cambridge studies that were conducted many years ago confirmed the effects on Omega on a child’s brain. So if you get children, group a give them no fish oil, group B give them fish oil, the IQ intelligence quotient of the children that take the fish oil is in direct proportion to how much fish oil they have in their diet. So a child with lots and lots of fish oil in it’s diet, especially in a nurturing, loving environment with a good diet generally, will tend to be a smarter child than the one who’s just basically given sodas and cheap crappy margarine’s and things like that. It’s unfair to say that, but there’s absolutely a hundred percent proof that that’s a fact.
So not only that, there are also enough studies to show that the Omega-3 has significant anti-inflammatory effects. So will it be good for your digestive system? Absolutely. Will it reduce inflammation in the body? Absolutely. Will it improve the function of the brain on many levels? Absolutely. Then why aren’t many people taking fish oils? Well, I think a lot of people are, but unfortunately a lot of people are also taking very poor quality fish oils, rancid fish oils. When I was in the South Island, New Zealand, I sampled many different types of fish oil. So now I can smell and taste an oil and bing, I can immediately know, tell you if it’s rancid or not, if it’s good quality or crap quality.
So there aren’t many fish oils that I would really like to promote myself. So I’m still looking at a supremely good source of Cod oil. Probably from the Northern hemisphere, from quite high up around Norway would be a good one to get. So watch this space because I love Omega-3. And I wrote widely about Omega-3 in Candida Crusher. I believe everybody would benefit from one to two grams, one to 2000 milligrams of fish oil per day on an ongoing basis. It’s a fantastic thing to have. Auto immune disease is mitigated by it. It reduces all parameters auto immune inflammation, arthritis. Yeah. Leaky gut will certainly benefit from it. And it helps the gut wall on so many levels. So to answer the question, how do I use it? I would take two capsules a day, 2000 milligrams with food. Probably spread them out. You could build it up to three, but two is probably sufficient and yeah, just make sure that you follow an anti-inflammatory diet as well. Check on this channel, because if you do a search you’ll find my recommendations for anti-inflammatory diet. Thanks for tuning in.
“Are goji berries okay if you are craving sugar?” Goji berries, tiny little red berries. Tried to grow these, but they’re difficult to grow in New Zealand. So I believe they’re a nightshade where they belong to the solanaceae family. Incredible food, super food. So over 20 minerals, high vitamin C. Yep, they’re a fantastic food to eat. So can you really get a good effect out of these if you keep eating them if you crave sugar?
Well, let’s just put the goji berries aside. My question to the subscriber would be why do you crave sugar? And if you do crave sugar, don’t look at something to substitute it for the sugar necessarily, but think why you crave sugar and how bad you crave sugar and what sources of sugar you’re currently consuming. Okay? So if you get to the root cause of the problem, you won’t need any kind of berry or anything as a substitute. But you can snack on these, not a problem here or there. But is it going to be enough to quell the desire for sugar that you have?
I would recommend that you look more at taking a multivitamin, chromium in it, for example. Chromium picolinate would be a good one to take, maybe 200 micrograms per day. If you’re a larger person, you want to take a 500 microgram capsule, maybe with your lunch. B vitamins are also quite intelligent to take if you crave sugar. That should help you significantly give you a boost of energy like the sugar often does, but also in very slowly over a period of about two to three months, changing your diet and lifestyle. Okay? Because people who crave sugar often have got gut kind of issues as well as a result of the sugar. They may carry weight, they have fatigue or sleeping problems. So these things can all be reversed by slowing your need and desire for sugar, by making those very slow, incremental diet changes.
Many people who crave sugar, for example, don’t eat any fruit. Fruit’s one of the best forms of natural sugar to eat. But people have got this morbid fear today that eating any kind of fruit will give you a yeast infection. I can tell you guys, we eat three, four, five pieces of fruit a day that we grow ourselves. No gut issues here. You eat tree-ripen stuff, you’re going to have no problem. Just don’t go stupid and eat like nine oranges in one day or things like that. Too much of anything is going to cause a problem.
So goji berries are good, but keep it again to a small quantity. And don’t just eat these things as a substitute for sugar. As I say, you need to find out why you’re craving the sugar and reverse that craving by changing the diet and also changing the lifestyle. So changing the lifestyle, meaning look at when you eat sugar and how you eat sugar. And then in those instances, you may want to make a lifestyle change, do something else instead of going for the sugar. Okay? What you’ll find initially, when you have a lesser need for sugar, a lot of things will change, especially your energy levels will become more consistent. You won’t have any dips in blood sugar anymore, and yeah, it’s well worth doing.
